A campaign running alongside our 2018 Street Day Appeal
Wellington
CPW takes in and cares for displaced cats at its shelter in Kingston, Wellington until we can find them their new forever homes. We are a registered charity run by cat-loving members and volunteers, and have been helping cats in the Wellington region since 1982.
We have a permanent Care for Life programme where we cover the medical costs for older cats or cats with long-term health issues so we can take the financial worry out of taking on an older or unwell cat. We also run a subsidised desexing programme to help people on low incomes desex their cats.
On average, it costs us $120,000 annually to keep the shelter and our desexing and Care for Life programmes running – money that comes solely from donations, membership fees and fundraising.
Our annual Street Day Appeal on Friday 19 October 2018 is our largest fundraising event of the year, and we’d love your help so we can keep on helping the cats
Every year in Wellington, hundreds of cats find themselves homeless.
Cats Protection Wellington cares for cats at a comfortable shelter in Kingston, Wellington, until they can find new homes.
Our shelter's open to visitors on Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm to 4pm by appointment only. We're at 29 Vancouver Street, Kingston.
We're a registered charity, and we have great support from a number of vets in the Wellington region. All our cats have been vet-checked, vaccinated, desexed and microchipped.
Funds will be used to continue the running of our shelter, and desexing and Care for Life programmes.
