Central Stags climbing peaks for cancer.
Hawke's Bay
Central Stags player Blair Tickner's wife was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia whilst over in the UK playing for Derbyshire CCC. They have now made it home, but not without the help and support of some amazing charities. The Ozanam House Palmerston North and Cure Leukaemia UK.
Cure Leukaemia UK are now fundraising a 'Running the nations' event around the UK and one of the stages will be in honour of Sarah. The Stags players have decided to join their British friends to help raise money for this charity and also Ozanam House Trust, Palmerston North, who have provided accommodation to the Tickners since returning back to New Zealand.
The Central Stags players will be climbing the highest peaks of each of the 8 provinces that make up the district by SkiErg, Rower and WattBike. This will be on the 19th of September at Mitre10 Park in Hawke’s Bay. They will also be doing this in the heat chamber set at a lovely 30 degrees Celsius.
This event will be covered on social media with all proceeds going 50% to the Ozanam House Trust Palmerston North and 50% going to Cure Leukaemia UK
My wife and I have had great support from both charities.
Money will be sent to both charities to keep doing there amazing work for people like Sarah.
