Hey everyone! Charlie has had his wires removed and is almost completely back to normal! The only thing left is to gain back some weight but that shouldn't be an issue haha. Thank you all so much for all the caring words and kind donations to help with Charlie's rehabilitation and getting him back to his playful self!!!

Hey all! So it's been 1 week since the incident, Charlie has gotten used to the feeding tube but definitely still misses his meals. As advised by the car we have been offering him small amount of soft wet food and today is the first time he actually had some!!!

Small progress but big for Charlie 😍

  • Feeding tubes aren't fun

Update on Charlie.. we struggled this morning with the feeding tube but was better this afternoon. Had him at the Vet again this morning and they gave him some pain relief patch that will last for about 4 days. Vet said that Charlie is a little fighter and we need to understand due to all the little fractures in his face he is very sore, hence why we struggled with the tube this morning.

  • Broken jaw, wires and the feeding tube

      25 March 2024

Hey all, so not great news,

The vet called and let us know that Charlie's bottom jaw is broken and they are currently putting wires in to stabilize it. They can also see that there are some parts broken at the top but will only know more with a CT scan, which is $3k. We will look doing the scan later this week to see how he goes.. as he already needed to be sedated for todays affair...He is also having a feeding tube placed in his throat for the rest of the week.. so far, our bill is sitting at $5500.00 for this.

Will be keeping the page open until we have this sorted and the whole de beer family really appreciates everything you guys have done to help us

So thank you so much everyone for the donations! Charlie is now at home and will be seeing our vet on Monday to further look at his injuries...at the moment the biggest concern is that he is refusing to eat...if he hasn't eaten by Monday morning we will be looking into options whether it be feeding tube or iv drip.. Anyway thank you all again and will update soon!
