Sorry we have not updated more throughout this journey but we have been so taken up with Charlotte’s treatment, something’s were neglected.

Charlotte finished her treatment in early February. Once the treatment had time to work and Charlotte had recovered the hospital re scanned Charlotte and did all the relevant tests and examinations.

We were told that there is no trace of the tumour and Charlotte is officially in remission. Charlotte will always be under surveillance & the care of the hospital. Nobody knows what the future holds for any of us but we are very hopeful that Charlotte will now be able to get on with having the same happy and active childhood that her twin PJ enjoys.

We would like to thank you very much for your kind donation. Charlotte's fund will be used to ensure she can continue to enjoy her childhood. She will be able to have extra tuition and help to catch up with PJ. She is already making up for lost time in the swimming pool spending more than 2 hours in there at her first visit – she would probably still be there if we didn’t make her get out!!!

At the time the Givealittle page was set up, we did not know what we were facing and how much it was going to cost us. Your donation helped to greatly ease that worry and also contributed to funds that will enable Charlotte to put the last 8 months behind her.

When Charlotte is old enough to understand all of this, we will make sure she knows how kind perfect strangers and friends and family were to us and how their generosity eased our burden at a very stressful time.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts

  • Update from Trip to Australia

      16 November 2014

Sorry we have not been updating but we have had limited internet access whilst in Australia Charlotte has completed all 10 of her radiotherapy sessions and the radiotherapist is happy with the way it all went. We went to the Royal Children's Hospital week days at 8 but were usually out by 12. Radiotherapy started on Tuesday 21st October and was all good except for a trip on Wednesday to the emergency department in the evening, but they couldn't have been better & had us on our way again in about 1.5hrs. Radiotherapy finished on Tuesday 5th November. We were supposed to fly back on Friday 7th and then back into hospital Saturday morning for a 3 day stay of chemo, but the powers that be (Aussie & Kiwi doctors) seem to have had a meeting & kindly gave us some chemo on Tuesday so we didn't have to rush back. So we are able to stay til Sunday taking in a bit of the Gold Coast for a well earned break for all. Saying that it was Charlotte who was the one doing all the hard work again We met some really lovely doctors & nurses who looked after Charlotte like one of their own, we will always remember them & they will forever have a place in our hearts. We really do appreciate all the fundraising on Charlotte's behalf. Not only does it allow us all to be together as a family throughout Charlotte's treatment, it will be available to ensure Charlotte can receive any additional help she may need to ensure she can keep up with her friends after all of this.
