    Thanks to Fantastic team Work 😊😊😊😊....

    Wairua 1 with power reduced to 50 % because of minimal fuel in its fuel tank,

    reset a new 2000 cc FIA LSR 2 run Record Average of 307 Mph ( Old was 254 Mph )

    The fastest run was 319 Mph & exit speed 325 Mph

    Subject to FIA (orASN) homologation

    The not so good ---

    With the last of the dregs of fuel we have, we could only test run Wairua 2 today.

    Reached 300 Mph easily. Changed gear to go faster at mile 3..... broke internal selector rail between 1st & 7th !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Wairua 2 will B sidelined for a few days – Changing gearbox

    The UGLY --

    CMR still do not have fuel to test & race as we wish.

    Tomorrow is the last day of official CMR LSR Event.

    With the last drops of fuel CMR have, hopefully we will have another test run in Wairua 1 & the World's Fastest Mini Build Mini

    Hope: That if & when fuel arrives, Wairua 2 can chase 800 Kph at Mike Akatiff's USA event 23rd to 27th Oct.

    Reality: CMR have to stay on the salt until FIA Scrutineer arrives 25th Oct to

    Measure & Certify Wairua 1 Engine & Eligibility

  • The Wind Wins at the moment

    Have had a frustrating couple of days delays due to excessive winds. Heading out 6.30 am tomorrow in the hopes we can get some test runs in before it picks up again. Some things we can't control sadly. Every day is a lost day that creates new logistical and financial challenges. We truly appreciate your support.

  • Fuel MIA

    Amazing CMR Kiwi Can Do Team were ready to start test runs yesterday as per schedule.........then got the news race fuel, purchased a month ago, would not be arrive on time.

    🔘Flights home had already extended. Could the Team extend further?

    🔘We need a full team in place and key people to race the Streamliners.

    🔘How to circumvent the issues and get the fuel to Uyuni asap

    🔘Emergency stations!

    This adventure is the gift that keeps giving with yet another test of Kiwi resilience and solution finding.

    Never give up!

    We have lost a few more days but SAVED THE EVENT.

    Test runs now start Sunday 11th with race days between 12th and 21st October.

    Meantime, no time is wasted. There's a multitude of daily tasks for over 50 self funded volunteers on site: checks, re checks, turn around practise, dyno testing, fine tuning, parachute packing and re packing, data analysis etc etc.

    The real challenge right now is how to finance the tens of thousands of dollars in extra expenses of every single delay day.

    We need your help thats for sure. Please spread the word.

  • The Containers have arrived on the Salt

    The site set up Team have been in action on first full day of site set up following offloading of the containers yesterday. It's been a busy few days with Reg and team members meeting with local Municipalities cementing support for our immediate needs. Last Team members are arriving in from around the world in next couple of days and planning is well underway for Test run days.

  • Kiwi Ingenuity at it's best!

    THE CHALLENGE: Grader scheduled to create the track NO LONGER available. 😏

    ENTER: CMR KIWI CAN DO Team doing what we do best. Ingenuity and resourcefulness in the face of a seemingly impossible solution.🤔

    PROJECT:

    *️⃣ Scope the back yards of Uyuni to find what ever scrap metal we can.

    *️⃣ Brain storming

    *️⃣ Create Grader HEAVY and effective enough to shave off the 'concrete like' surface of the Salt.

    OUTCOME:

    After amazing 3 days of collaborative team work, Ian Laird & Grant Horn hit the salt for test runs.

    Preliminary course preparation now under way 😊😊😊😊

    The Basic Salt conditions are Amazingly Good – Better than last year ✅

    Hi Team

    How things change in 24 Hours

    A night of rare unseasonal rain & snow at UYUNI !!!!!!!!!!!!

    Which normally is only around the hills.

    The usually dry salt surface is covered with water.

    (Compared to the dry salt surface of first visit with Surveyors.)

    Not helpful - as extra EXPENSES will be incurred.

    But all advice is that it should dry quickly.

    CMR can still do this because we had allowed extra time needed to prepare course. So still on track for attached dates

    Challenges bring out the best in us! 💪

    We remain focused on the goal!🏎️

  • The Ship has left New Zealand

    The Containers were packed up and trucked to port last week. The ship left for Arica Port, Chile at 2.30 am yesterday! Next step is to get from Chile to Bolivia in four weeks time. That requires a 250k Bond and customs permits just to release the containers for transit to and within Bolivia. So many moving parts and people involved in just getting the Cars to where they need to be.

    Wairua2 our 10 metre streamliner is packed down and ready to ship to Bolivia. Next time we see it - test runs and fine tuning will commence with the sole focus of hitting 800kph ( 500 mph). We've already run it at 450 mph on 12 gears in the workshop so we're on track! Now to focus on fundraising. Appreciate you sharing our page all.
