HELP!!! We desperately need a new patrol vehicle 🤞
Our current vehicle has done 360,000km and we only have 1 month left until it will cost too much to pass it's warrant. We will be getting as much as we can for it and putting it towards a new vehicle.
We have managed to secure a grant but we just need a wee bit more to get us over the line.
It's very hard to receive funding or grants for vehicle maintenance, and we need a reliable car to attend jobs given to us by the police.
This vehicle is far from reliable and is on it's last legs! (As quoted by mechanics). We have pumped a lot of money into it over the years and now it's time to upgrade.
Help us to continue the work we do in the community and have been doing for the past 30 years - every little bit helps
Our dedicated team of volunteers give 400hrs and drive 4000km each month.
The work we do in the community is very highly regarded by the police and we are told on a regular basis that what we do is making a difference.
Last month we reported:
✅ 89 suspicious vehicles
✅ 13 incidents of suspicious behaviour
✅ 9 missing number plates
✅ 5 stolen cars
✅ 5 welfare checks on member of the public
✅ 324 pieces of graffiti
Assisted at:
✅ 1 house fire
✅ 3 car crashes
Collected:
✅ 3 rubbish bags of rubbish from council car parks
Please if you could spare a few dollars to keep our patrol running it would be very much appreciated 🙇

Christchurch North Community Patrol are a group of volunteers who work alongswide the police to help make our community a safe place to live. We act as the 'eyes and ears' of the police in the Christchurch North area, and have been operating in Christchurch for 30 years.
Our role is to carry out regular vehicle and foot patrols, reporting suspicious behavior and vehicles to the police, and assisting them and the public in any way we can. We focus on crime and burglary 'hotspots' in our area which are given to us by the police, as well as information we receive from the public. Our assigned station is the the Papanui Police Station.
We patrol many businesses, schools, malls, parks, industrial and residential areas. So if you live in, or have a business in the our area - chances are we have kept watch over your premises and neighborhood at some stage over the past 30 years.
Our area is the biggest in New Zealand, and spans north of Bealey Ave, out to Brooklands in one direction, and Russley in the other direction - and every suburb in between Including
Richcmond, Shirley, Belfast
St Albans, Papanui, Bishopdale, McLeans Is
Fendalton, Burnside Avonhead
To name a few...
All of our patrollers are police vetted and well trained. Some are retired, and patrolling gives them the opportunity to keep active and serve their community. However we also have police recruits who we train, and in time will move on to police college. And others are just members of the community who want to do their bit to keep their neighbourhoods safe.
Other jobs that we assist with in the community:
'MAIL RUN'
We secure and delivering documents to the police stations - freeing up police time.
ACCIDENTS AND EMERGENCIES
We assist at vehicle accidents and emergencies such as fires, floods and earthquakes.
CHARITY HOSPITAL
We work closely with the Charity Hospital where we help with patient transport, and delivering instruments to Christchurch Hospital and back. Most recently we have assisted with the March 15 attack victims by helping them attend their free counselling at the Charity Hospital
