Fundraiser for Patty & Steve Chinnock

$18,945 donated
Given by 102 generous donors in 4 weeks

To Support Jesse’s Mum Patty and Uncle Steve through the hardest of times after loosing their homes to the bush fires in Lake Conjola.

Nationwide

Hi All

As a lot of friends would know our mate Jesse Chinnock has spent the last week fighting fires and protecting homes in one of the worst hit places of these current Australian bush fires at Lake Conjola.

His home is thankfully still currently standing but sadly both the homes of his mother Patty and Uncle Steve (neighbours in Lake Conjola) have perished and are nothing more.

We have set up this page to directly help both Patty and Steve Chinnock through what is the saddest of times.

Patty's family home also held the majority of memories (photos, books, art) of the late Keith Chinnock who throughout the years managed both the Keith Spry Pool and Khandallah pool in the Wellington region for a number of years..

Although there are many charities and donation points for these fires we believe that with the vast number of friends that know this family, this is a great chance to directly help a great Wellington/Kiwi family going through hell across the Tasman.

Feel free to share this far and wide.

Trav and myself have been close family friends for over 30 years and as you can imagine in such horrible times we would like to help Patty, Jesse and the family.

Use of funds

Funds will be used for immediate necessities as sadly they left with only the clothes they were wearing. We hope it will assist in rebuilding a place they can call home once more.

"Much Love" from the Chinnocks  5 February 2020

Hi all

Just want to give a huge thanks to all that have donated to the Chinnock give a little page we set up. The page has a few days left before it closes and after some initial doubt about how it would go we are not far off $20,000, or double what we set out to raise..

We managed to get the story spread on stuff, NZ Herald and Woman’s Weekly, and in a couple of days will hand the money raised over to both Patty and Steve.

Great to know the Chinnocks had so many people that cared with donations coming in from around NZ, Oz, Japan, Brazil and Amsterdam among other places..

Thanks to Natasha Anquetil Travis Anquetil and Richard Henderson who helped upkeep the page and with contacting the different media outlets and everyone that has donated. Everyone's generosity, kindness and love towards the family really means so much to them.

THANK YOU!

I remember Patty & Keith so well from our days in Ngaio. Patty would bring goats milk to my severely allergic young son when he couldn't tolerate anything else. Such lovely people and very community minded.
