Giving back to benefit others.

Tēnā koutou katoa
Too often in life we unexpectedly lose the ones we love dearly. I am on a mission to raise money for a local organisation in memory of a loved one (Cody). I want to give back to our community by raising money for the local Te Aitarakihi Marae a Iwi - Multicultural Centre. The funds raised will go towards running wānanga (meeting, seminar) for rangatahi (youth) in our community. The wānanga will offer experiences, games and values that will uplift young people giving them confidence within themselves.
I will cornrow my hair in memory of Cody and aim to raise $1000 over the month. At the end of fundraising, I will have my hair shaved off with Cody's whānau contributing to the chop of my mop. A small moment of selflessness, for what I hope could make a difference by supporting and bringing opportunity for local rangatahi (youth) in our community.
Any donations will be greatly appreciated by myself and for the organisation I will be donating to.
Kia hora te marino, kia whakapapa pounamu te moana, kia tere te kārohirohi i mua i tō huarahi. (May clam be spread all around you, may the sea glisten like greenstone, and the shimmer of summer dance across your path).

This is a local organisation which over the past 12 months I have been involved with on a few occasions, and their support of our community is invaluable.
Funds raised will be passed to Te Aitarakihi Society Incorporated and go towards running wānanga for youth to gain experiences and confidence within themselves.
