    Hi all, forecast for Sunday is for rain. This planting will still be going ahead but I'd prefer it if fewer people came. We only need 6-8 to do the cabbage trees, the Coastal Pathway Trust has advised. There's another planting happening nearby at Beachville Reserve, so if there's extra people they can be directed to that. Please wear hi-vis if you have it, sturdy footwear, a waterproof jacket and bring a spade. Meet just before 10am on Beachille Rd near the reserve for a safety briefing

  • Planting day is June 20

    Hi all, the Christchurch Coastal Pathway Group has confirmed June 20 as the planting day for both the cabbage trees and other natives they're planting around Beachville Rd.   • Cabbage trees secured!

    Hi all, thanks again to everyone who donated. Today I visited Trees for Canterbury and paid for the 24 cabbage trees. They're going to keep them on-site until we figure out a planting day with the Coastal Pathway Group. At this stage, it's looking like it will happen with June. I'll post details here when it's confirmed and make a Facebook event to invite people to come and help out.

  • Extra funds

    Hi all, thanks again for your generosity. We've reached and now exceeded the fundraising goal, so no more money please! Anything extra, I'll use for trailer hire, perhaps some snacks for planters and - if we're lucky - maybe a few extra trees.

    Thanks to everyone who donated we managed to reach the target sum after just four hours - amazing! It's incredible to see so much support, and I'm really grateful to everyone who made a contribution. I'll arrange a day for the plantings in the near future and keep everyone posted as to when that will be. Thanks again.
