The 2014 Cystic Fibrosis Wellington Christmas Tree Festival is a unique annual event to raise funds to support children and young people with Cystic Fibrosis in our community.
The Festival is held at the St James Theatre on Courtenay Place and is open to the public for viewing 24th November to 7th December.
Cystic Fibrosis Wellington now has more children and young people relying on their care than ever before. Cystic fibrosis is a life-shortening, inherited disease that slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis, and those with the condition have to adhere to a daily treatment regime of medication and physiotherapy. Specialist treatment and equipment means that those affected can enjoy fuller and healthier lives. This year we need to raise $10,000 from the Christmas Tree Festival to meet the needs of children, young people and adults.
The Wellington Christmas Tree Festival is organised by a team of volunteers including myself. Most of us have friends and family that have been touched by Cystic Fibrosis. This means that your donation will be used to support families and not cover Festival running costs. I know first hand how your sponsorship would support children and young people with Cystic Fibrosis to live a longer and healthier life.
We support those with Cystic Fibrosis in Wellington through purchasing equipment (such as nebulisers which are not funded by the DHB), physio equipment, in patient hospital packs, hospital liaison etc
