Supporting Christy as she faces breast cancer (again). Help this mama heal while caring for her two young boys.
Tauranga, Bay Of Plenty
After 16 years cancer-free, our dear friend Christy is facing the unthinkable - breast cancer has returned despite her full mastectomy and incredibly health-conscious lifestyle.
Christy is a single mum with two amazing boys (10 and 11) and was studying to become a naturopath when this aggressive cancer returned. She's undergone surgery and now needs a range of treatments both conventional and complementary - many of which aren't funded.
What makes this situation particularly challenging is how dedicated Christy has been to wellness throughout her life. Those who know her understand her unwavering commitment to health - she's that friend who embraces natural living in everything she does -Don't take her out for coffee unless you're okay with her popping behind the counter to ensure the barista makes her organic, fair-trade turmeric latte with house-made almond milk, a sprinkle of activated cinnamon, and precisely three drops of raw local honey (honestly I'm hardly even exaggerating).
Now she needs to pause both work and studies to focus entirely on healing.
Your support helps Christy access treatments, maintain her household, and provide stability for her boys during this uncertain time.
Christy and I became close friends over seven years ago when our boys met starting school together at Tauranga Primary.
The funds will provide Christy with basic income while she's unable to work. Money will also support treatments not funded by healthcare. Any amount raised will directly reduce her financial stress and allow her to focus fully on recovery.
