Help me fundraise to cover my rowing season costs and clean up our coast along the way!
Nelson / Tasman
Hello,
I’m looking to raise funds to be able to compete this Summer rowing season. I’m a novice (first year) rower who has fallen in love with the sport after too many years neglecting my health and fitness while at University. I've been training with a great group over the past months and am excited to have the opportunity to compete this summer.
Rowing is an expensive sport, so I thought what better way to raise some funds than clean up our coastlines along the way. I’ll be collecting rubbish from local beaches, rivers, parks, and surrounding hills to do my small part in keeping New Zealand beautiful. For every donation I’ll collect a (reusable cloth) bag full of rubbish, the larger the donation the more rubbish I’ll pick up. I'll be posting updates on the page when I compete rubbish collections so you can see your donation making a difference.
Please consider donating, doing your part to help keep a girl in sport and rubbish off our beaches!
Any funds raised will go towards covering my competitive season costs
Rubbish collection 18 October 2019
I've done 4 weekends of rubbish collection in various areas and have collected enough to fill our wheelie bin 3 times. It feels good leaving an area tidy and to be contributing in a small way. My most interesting finds have been a rusty umbrella stand on the side of motorway and a surprising number of shoes.
