Coast 2 Coast 4 KESH – When Endeavour and Pride come together.

Hey team, I am about to have a crack at the Coast 2 Coast event, the 2 person/2 day version. Shane & I have been running up the K’s on both land and water and just loving it, even if at times the head has been more willing than the body. Our team name is ‘Coast'n It’ and we are not planning to 'Coast' the race!

That is the Endeavour.

The Pride is directed to my amazing wife who has created an incredible initiative to support absolutely incredible young people that have found the structured school system to not be for them. She and her teaching colleague Sara have created the Koru Educational Support Hub Charitable Trust (KESH) that is making a real difference to some of the most amazing kids on the planet, an environment of nurturing, support and care.

In 2026, KESH will start with 20 students, with many others on the waiting list. We have just built a purpose-built building on our property to ensure KESH has a long term home. Jody & the team are making a real difference every day, one family at a time but they are limited by staffing resource.

While out on yet another training run over the weekend, my mind connected our upcoming event with Jody & KESH (the initiative that just fills me with pride) and I thought we should be doing ‘Coast 2 Coast 4 KESH’!

KESH is a registered Charitable Trust that was set up by my wife Jody and her teaching colleague Sara. They are passionate educators with a powerful sense that every child is special and deserves to experience a supportive, caring learning environment.

Use of funds

With our family having funded the new build, the focus in early 2026 is now squarely on staffing. We would dearly love to add another specialist staff member to build our capacity in providing key educational and social support, and allow the roll to grow.
