E Tū Tāngata and Colour Your Day
Canterbury
In New Zealand we have a culture of criticism (Tall Poppy Syndrome). E Tū Tāngata is an initiative aimed at turning this around, empowering people to build a culture where every person is valued.
Tall Poppy Syndrome is all about cutting down tall poppies - those who stick their heads up above the crowd or those who shine the brightest.
Our annual fundraising event is Colour Your Day, happening this year on Friday, March 22. Wear something outrageously bright and make a donation to encourage our young people to Colour Your Day and STAND UP for STANDING OUT. We want to let them know that it's important to try hard and be the best that they can be and it's more than okay if they excel at something.
Donations received will be used to support the work of E Tū Tāngata in schools.
E Tū Tāngata (Stand Together) is an organisation directly addressing our culture of criticism, otherwise known as Tall Poppy Syndrome. E Tū Tāngata is not a programme, but rather is about starting a conversation and initiating a cultural change.
Donations received will be used to support the work of E Tū Tāngata in schools.
