Comedy and ultra-running combined to highlight the bestness of Aotearoa arts and environment
International
Touring a physical comedy show through Aotearoa on foot 3000km along Te Araroa Trail wilderness is the project. An Order of Magnitude experiments with what's possible physically and where it is possible to perform, breaking the mould for touring arts while taking advantage of our unique and pristine environment. Our arts and environment are two consistently undervalued areas and this project makes use of and highlights both.
An Order of Magnitude will be touring Te Waipounamu/South Island during January and February 2027 and Te Ika-a-Māui/North Island dates will be announced later once I know what state my physical condition will be.
Support the show and conservations efforts via NZ Nature Fund by donating. Come to see the show, follow along on instagram or strava and visit thommonckton.net/tour for more information.
50% of costs raised for on-trail and show-related expenses (nutrition, hydration, transport, equipment maintenance) and 50% to NZ Nature Fund until $5k is raised for Endling and then 100% of anything raised above this will be donated to NZ Nature Fund.
Logistics, Venues, and Conservation Efforts 29 October 2026
Wow Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far to help raise $1000 for NZ Conservation Fund, and entertaining new audiences along Te Araroa with a bonkers little mime show. The arts and conservation are two causes that are increasingly in-need of support so thank you. I did a little demo of the show in Wellington and was very happy with the result, many of you were in the audience in that show, thank you for coming on out. As part of training I also ran the 50km Tekapo Ultra.
This is an update on one of the many projects that is happening from NZ Nature Fund:
