After surviving cancer age 4, now age 14, Maisie has a timeline on her life. She has been diagnosed with mesothelioma, a form of cancer.
Auckland
Maisie first contracted a rare form of cancer at the innocent age of 4.
She experienced the torture of intense chemotherapy and radiotherapy and missed out on some key years of her development. As we've all experienced in some form, directly & indirectly.. cancer not only impacts the sufferer but close family also suffer immensely.
Her Mum & Dad remained by her side feeling helpless through an unknown journey and were confronted by the impacts of this devastating disease.
Against all odds, Maisie battled through, surviving and becoming the most empathetic, gentle and loving little girl!
We fast forward to December 2019 when Maisie started to feel unwell and never really recovered fully. She spent the day at the hospital on 11th February where she had a stomach scan and soon after an MRI on her head - an all too familiar experience for the poor little girl.
On 15th February, our family was once again devastated..
Maisie, now 14, has been diagnosed with 'mesothelioma' cancer presenting itself on her lungs and liver. Due to the seriousness and rapid growth of her cancer, there is a timeline on her life and 2020 is likely to be her last.
Having been deprived of many years of her short life - giving support to Maisie and her family to ensure they have memories to last a lifetime will be the most precious thing available to them.
I am the cousin of Maisie
