West Coast

At Sunday Blessings, we believe that no-one in NZ should go hungry and be forced to search through rubbish bins for food, especially anyone struggling with homelessness.

Since our formation in 2018, via surplus food donations from various cafes, organisations and our very own kitchens, we have been coordinating meals for our homeless community.

Prior to Covid 19 Lockdown, we were providing up to 220 meals per week, served at large gatherings every Sunday and Tuesday outside Auckland City Library.

Like most of NZ's organisations, we have had to cease services, but there is still a need for free food provision for the people who are living outside, or those who are homed but are finding themselves struggling.

We have worked hard to restructure, and can now offer an online ordering system with no contact delivery, however with the closure of our regular donors business's, we need help from our community financially.

We are all so very grateful the St George's rowing club 'Cook Strait Fairies' has nominated us to raise funds for, via their at home and live "row the distance of the Cook Strait" event @ 8;30am, Sat 18 April- Go Crew!!!

In terms of what you can donate, $2 is all we are asking from anyone in a position to give a little, as $2 is all it will take to provide a delicious and delivered meal to our streetie friends and more.

We will anonymously assign each person who donates an individual (or household) who has requested food from us, at times with a photo. You can rest assured that 100% of your donation goes straight to those in the community who need it, Sunday Blessings keeps nothing.

Those who are living with the stress of sleeping rough, sometimes may not feel comfortable seeking help outside of familiar friends at Sunday Blessings, but we need your help to keep helping our people.

Thank you

Note: Sunday Blessings is working under "Community Groups Feeding the Homeless" our registered incorporated society, and all details about our online ordering can be found at www.sundayblessings.co.nz. and St George's rowing Cook Strait fundraiser here - https://www.facebook.com/events/605866356877581/

Please watch the video in link attached made by AUT students for an idea of the amount of people who need food, operating under our old model.
