Fire burns down Rolleston couple's home, leaving them with nothing.
Canterbury
On 23 December 2017, Daryl & Salve Cross lost everything in a matter of minutes, after a fire fuelled by blustery winds and tinder-dry grass burnt down the couple's home. They also lost their vehicle and workshop, containing a large collection of valuable engineering equipment accumulated over a lifetime.
The couple have been left with nothing but the clothes on their back. As family friends, we cannot imagine how heartbreaking it would be to not only lose all of your possessions, but also a lifetime of memories. Please consider giving a little to this hard-working couple this Christmas.

As family friends of Daryl and Salve we hope to help them rebuild their lives.
Any donations will be greatly appreciated and will be used to help the couple rebuild their lives.
Many thanks for all of your donations and support 14 January 2018
Our page is closing tonight and on behalf of Daryl and Salve Cross, I would like to thank all of our generous donors; every donation has been very much appreciated at this difficult time. Daryl said ‘they are looking forward now, as there is no point in looking back’.
Thank you too to all of the generous community support received by way of messages, food and offers of help/support, this has all been so very much appreciated and Daryl and Salve also send their genuine heartfelt thanks.
