Please help get me to Tonga to help animals in need at a temporary veterinary clinic with SPAW and Unitec.
Auckland
My name is Courtney and I am currently in my second year of a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing at Unitec. I have been selected as one of 14 students to volunteer in Tonga for a ‘pop-up’ veterinary clinic with South Pacific Animal Welfare (SPAW) and Unitec.
South Pacific Animal Welfare is a volunteer organisation that provides pop up clinics in Tonga. Unitec is supporting SPAW during December 2017 by providing veterinarians and nursing students for this clinic.
Tonga has no permanent veterinary clinic, with the community relying on pop-up vet clinics to provide basic veterinary care such as vaccinations, parasite control, and spey/neutering. These clinics treat all animals including cats, dogs, horses, pigs, cattle and chickens. In fact, any animal that is brought in for treatment.
I will be assisting the team of veterinarians and other nursing students, providing care to the animals that come to our clinic.
As a student, I am struggling to fund this trip, so would appreciate any donations, no matter how big or small all donations will be a huge help! My costs include airfares, accommodation and food. If I can raise enough to cover my expenses, any additional funds will be donated to SPAW to enable them to continue doing the great working helping the animals in need.
Funds raised will be used for flights, accomodation, food and other supplies.
