COVID-19 Impact on Orama - We need your help!

The impact of COVID-19 has been brutal for many and Orama has not been spared. Our income has dropped by 100% in a short space of time. Normally our main income comes from our hospitality business and our many partnerships. However with the cancellation of all programmes for the foreseeable future this income stream is gone for now and we have no certainty around when it will resume.

In addition there is uncertainty around the timing of any international events – depending on the Government’s stance on opening our borders. Of course we won’t know for a while how this will play out and whilst we remain open to opportunity, we also need to be prepared for the worst case.

In times of no income we still incur fixed costs including wages and basic running costs e.g. rates and insurance, diesel to run the generator etc. We are reducing costs wherever we can.

At this stage whilst we are uncertain about the future we are doing what we can to keep running:

- We have applied for and received the wages subsidy from the Government which helps for the next three months. We are looking at all options relating to team remuneration.

- We are fine-tuning our running costs and minimising waste as much as possible.

- We are negotiating with our creditors and regular suppliers to see what payment concessions they can help us with (particularly insurance and rates).
