Shaving your hair is a big deal especially when you haven't even had a trim for over a year.
Chris is a generous and kind person who is wanting to make a difference in the lives of young people living with cancer. By choosing to shave his hair he is challenging himself to go out of his comfort zone to share kindness to young people who he has never even met.
With only a week to go until the big shave we want to ask you to help us ~ PLEASE can you share this page on your social media.... the more coverage it gets the more donations and awareness it brings and that in turns helps Chris to reach his target.
All of the money raised stays right here to support our members and their family living with cancer in Hawke's Bay. Which means every dollar donated will be supporting a son or daughter, niece or nephew, mum or dad, Granddaughter or Grandson, friend or colleague living with cancer right now.
Nobody should do this alone and we pride ourselves on walking alongside our members, providing wrap around support that is tailored to their individual needs as no two people are the same.
We provide social connection to peers who "get" what is happening as they are experiencing something similar, we provide activities to give them a break and have some fun, we provide opportunities to learn new skills and to feel empowered. We provide care packages, counselling and therapeutic workshops too. whether the member is recently diagnosed, completed treatment, palliative or bereaved we are their supporting them and their family navigating their new lives however that may look.
Later today I am meeting with Chris to discuss the final preparations for the big shave and I look forward to sharing a photo too.
We would like to thank everyone who has donated so far and to those who are helping Chris to reach his goal too.
Once again please can I ask if you can share this page in support, we all would be truly grateful and to see more of what we do check out our facebook page ~ The Acorn Project Hawke's Bay.
Have a great day
