Canterbury
The Cricket Live Day is a local celebration of Cricket. While we, in New Zealand, are very fortunate to have an abundance of opportunities, resources and parks to play our beloved summer game, others aren’t so lucky.
The Cricket Live Day (CLD) is an opportunity for us to recognise that we are the lucky ones. It also gives us an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for those who aren’t so lucky; the exact reason the Cricket Live Foundation exists.
Your support can change everything!
When a marginalised community is exposed to sports such as cricket, a lot can happen.
Children begin to learn the importance of key values such as teamwork, respect and gender equality.
Families develop healthy lifestyles and clean, positive habits.
Communities as a whole understand the value of education, life skills development and vocational training for their children.
All funds raised from the Cricket Live Day 2016, will contribute to these opportunities in our 4 centres in Moratuwa and Siyambalanduwa, Sri Lanka.
The Cricket Live Foundation is a New Zealand based non-profit organisation. Our objective is to bring Cricket to the children of Sri Lanka and India who currently live in underprivileged environments with limited opportunity.
To make any social or global change, you need a vehicle to drive that particular change. Our vehicle is Cricket.
We believe in empowering children through sport.
We believe that children should never stop learning.
We believe every child deserves to play sport.
We believe in creating positive change through sport.
The Cricket Live Foundation uses Cricket as a vehicle to develop the life skills and education of underprivileged children in South Asia.
We currently operate out of 4 centres in Sri Lanka, with over 300 children in our programme. The children will be with us for 3 years.
We are here to provide children with the childhood they deserve, and we need your help!
