Raising awareness for an incurable pain condition by beating it with a hike!
Otago
I live with an incurable pain condition called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). It's in my entire body, I live on medicines 24/7 and during the middle of the year, I found myself in the emergency room at the hospital because the pain was too much. However, my condition is mild when I look at some of my peers.
This year is the first Cross Country for CRPS, where - with the help of some friends - I'll be hiking to French Ridge hut at 1400m elevation to raise awareness for the condition. All of the funds raised will go towards the New Zealand Pain Society, supporting scientists that investigate pain syndromes and search for cures and best pain management practices.
I have been a previous fundraiser for the New Zealand Pain Society
All funds raised will support the New Zealand Pain Society in investigating pain syndromes.
