Caring for the large colony of abandoned roosters at the Onetangi Sports Park on Waiheke Island.
Auckland
Waiheke Island has a large colony of abandoned roosters which has been cared for by members of the public for many years. We discourage people from dumping roosters and have made efforts to educate the public that this is not a good option. However we still have over 60 boys to look after, and rely on donations to keep them well fed and in good condition. (Although members of the public drop off food at the park, it's not enough to make sure that everyone gets enough to eat.) We also need money to take them to the vet if needed - WISCA (Waiheke's version of the SPCA) will pay for euthanasia but anything else comes at our own expense. Despite some kind regular donors the roosters' account regularly ends up in overdraft. We need more donations to continue to look after these poor abandoned boys that nobody seems to want. Please help us!
Funds will be used for ongoing care for the 60 roosters at our park. Including wheat bags, vet bills etc.

Dear Rooster Friends,
Thank you so much for all your help in the past in looking after the poor, abandoned boys at the park! Thanks to your generosity we've been able to feed and care for them all Winter. However their bank account is getting a bit low and once again we are asking for donations so that we can buy more food for them. Whatever you can spare is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your ongoing support and compassion. We couldn't do what we do without you!
