  • Not Great News

      21 August 2021

Home from Wellington now. After +90 day From CarT cell therapy. I had my PET/CT scan which showed some of the lymphoma had shrunk but others had appeared. So now we wait while the specialist consult and see what we do next. Other than that I’m feeling well and getting on with it.

Thankyou for your continued support and caring.

    Cushla😁

  • Heading Home Soon

    Hi

It been a long 5 weeks since my last update. I had my Car T cells put back in on the 24/5, spent 2 weeks in Wellington Hospital getting looked after and cared for by their wonderful staff. Had a few really rough days.

Been in outpatient accomodation for the last 2weeks with daily checks at hospital. Also have had Nola here to keep a watchful eye on me and make sure I remember to take my meds and temperature.

Heading home next week to continue my recovery. Have to return for monthly checkups for the next few months. I get a CT/ PET scan in 2 month to see if it is working. Fingers crossed til then. Thank you for all your donations, messages of support and caring.

  • In Wellington for the next 6 weeks

      21 May 2021

Hi everyone. First week here almost done. Have had lots of tests and 3 rounds of chemo. I get admitted on Monday and have my T cells put back in to do there work, then I’ll be observed closely for 2 weeks for side effects etc. then back to being an outpatient for the next 2 weeks.

It has been great having Nathan here to support me for this week. With Greg coming up later and Nola being able to spend time with me after that. Thankyou also to Bailee who is staying at home to keep everything running smoothly.

I appreciate all your help now and in the future as I recover💕

  • Have a date.

      4 May 2021

Hi Just to let you all know I have a date for my return to Wellington to prepare, with more tests and chemo, for my Car T cells to be returned to me on the 24 of May.

We leave Timaru on 17th of may for 5 - 6 weeks. Seems like a long time away from home, but with all your care and support I know I will get there. 😁

  • Wellington

      3 April 2021

Hi. I have just spent 10 days in Wellington, having every medical test there is to make sure I fit the criteria for the Car T cell therapy. Which I do, which is great. So on Thursday they took some T cells off me and will turn them into super cells and put them back in, in about 4- 5 weeks. That is when my support person and I have to stay in Wellington for 5 week while I recover.

Thank you again for your continuing and future support

    Cushla xx

  • Change of plans

      10 March 2021

Hi guys. Since my last update I have had some issues with the side effects of my last chemo as it has destroyed my stomach lining meaning that the stem cell transplant can not go ahead anymore at this point in time.

I have had some time to heal and rest a wee bit and have been blessed with a rare opportunity and am able to go forward in a Car T cell therapy trial. This is not a common thing with myself being approximately the 12th person to be involved in this trial in NZ, This is done in Wellington. So I will be away for a least 6 weeks travelling back n forward and staying there with a support person.

Thankyou so much for everyone’s support it is well and truely appreciated and will help very much to cover travelling costs and time spent up there ect ,once again my family and I are so so appreciative and can not thank everyone enough.❤️

    Thanks Cushla
