#CutforCOVID Fundraising for our fellas on the frontline ❤️

Auckland

Turns out that barbers aren’t an essential aspect of society and my hair’s getting pretty long. So, what better way to monetise my male self-care than #cuttingforCOVID. I encourage anyone that can or was sitting on the fence about it to do the same!

Any amount is appreciated and will be going towards WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, funding the activities of the Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan, which include among others:

- Putting in place activities to track and understand the spread of the virus;

- Ensuring patients get the care they need

- Buying and ship essential supplies such as masks, gloves and protective wear for frontline workers

- Producing evidence based guidelines and advice, and make sure health workers and responders get the information and training to detect and treat affected patients;

- Producing guidance for the general public and for particular groups on measures to take to prevent the spread and prevent themselves and others

- Accelerating efforts to develop vaccines, tests and treatments.

Would like to give a huge shout out and thank you to all the front line healthcare workers around the world, especially our own, for all that they’re doing! Your work and sacrifice will never be forgotten and we are all rooting for you ❤️

UPDATE: Our new fund recipients  14 May 2020

Hey guys, after some thinking we have decided that a more local recipient of the funds we have raised will seem more fitting.

The WHO Solidarity Response Fund was initially chosen due to the lack of donation pathways that were available at the time in New Zealand. In the weeks since however, there have been several new organisations expressing the need for aid, especially financially.

After working with the St Vincent de Paul Society previously, I can confirm the work they do is truly amazing, and life changing for the marginalised of our society. These people have been particularly affected in the recent weeks and we would love to help St Vinnies, help others.

If you have any concerns about your donation going to Saint Vincent De Paul Society please get in touch with Givealittle at helpdesk@givealittle.co.nz by May 22nd.
