Cycling through New Zealand’s North Island to raise funds and support the work of Women’s Refuge.
Wellington
In February 2019, I will be cycling from Cape Reinga back home to Wellington by way of the national cycle trails through the North Island of New Zealand, and raising funds for Women’s Refuge as I go.
I will be cycling with my friend Louise Curtis who is raising funds for the Cancer Society.
In our journey we will go through some of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most beautiful and iconic locations. I know that there is a massive contrast between the beauty and joy of this experience and the daily reality of domestic violence for many families.
Women’s Refuge play a huge role in working with women and children who are looking for a safe and healthy life, and I want to make a contribution to their valuable and critical work.
Fundraising on behalf of Women’s Refuge
All funds will be handed to Refuge for distribution to individual Refuges or programmes at the discretion of the chief executive.
