Disaster overnight in waiohiki.

My name is bern pitman and i have 3 beautiful boys aged 10yrs 6yrs and 4yrs turning five in a couple months.
We woke up on the morena of 14th of feb valentines i remember this cause i was going to make breakfast that morning.
We woke up a around 6am and our house was surrounded by water.
Me and my partner rounded our boys up and panic kicked in and kaos by the time we made the choice to leave and get to higher ground.
We walked outside and water was chest high i had my dog and second oldest and my partner had other 2 boys.
We walked along fence line and got to higher ground.
We will never forget that week as it was the most frightening thing we all have seen.
We are still in waiohiki living in a borrowed camper till next month.
We help everyone that needs it but this time we are asking for help.
Thank you to everyone that has given a hand over this last 4weeks.
We have no insurance.
Use of funds
Clothes and housewares also storage and many other things we lost.
Stuff for our boys to feel normality again.
A little savings for when we do eventually get back into a home.
We had no insurance on anything or contents insurance.
