I would just like to thank everyone for their donations in support of my Dad. He was extremely grateful for everyone’s help and support.

The funds raised are being released to us (being paid to Kate) and will cover the cost of the funeral and to pay for his first treatment.

    Thanks again to everyone x

  • Dads farewell

    Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, I have some sad news to share.

Dad had his first immunotherapy treatment on 16 June, and it went really well.

He continued with his chemotherapy, and was looking forward to his second immunotherapy treatment in a few weeks. He was eating well, feeling good and was in no discomfort.

However, on Sunday night he took a sudden turn for the worse and was admitted to hospital.

Once he was stabilized, we heard the news no one wants to hear, which is that the cancer had done irreparable damage, and there was nothing the medical team could do. Palliative care was now the only option.

Dad took this news with courage and his characteristic positive outlook on life. He was content and happy to be surrounded by his loved ones in his final days.

He passed away peacefully in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Dad was so grateful for all the support and love from everyone. He was positive and fought hard to beat this cancer, but as he always said “shit happens”, and it wasn’t to be.

Thanks for all the love, Kate and Richard.

We’ve reduced the total donation requested as we now have certainty about the cost of the drug that we need to fund privately
