Daughter has tumor removed from brain wife had to resign to support daughters recovery
Masterton, Wellington
Over the past few weeks, our family’s world has been turned upside down. Out of nowhere, our 14-year-old daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumour and underwent emergency surgery at Starship Hospital.
We are incredibly grateful that the surgeons were able to remove most of the tumour, and she is now beginning what will be a long period of recovery.
Her recovery is expected to take several months. During this time, her mum needs to be at home to care for her full-time and has had to resign from her job so she can give our daughter the support she needs.
This means that, for the coming months — likely at least the first school term — we will be relying on a single income.
Unfortunately, my wages alone are not enough to cover our mortgage, power, food, and other everyday living costs.
We are asking for a little help to get us through this incredibly difficult period.
Primarily we are looking to get a little help with only one wage we have our mortgage power food and bills to cover
