David Biddick - carrying on his legacy by upgrading Riccarton High School's sporting facilities
Canterbury
David found enormous pleasure in helping others through the vehicle of sport (as a coach, manager, and administrator for cricket, hockey, basketball, and rugby). However, Riccarton High School held a special place in his heart where he dedicated countless hours as the Sports Coordinator for 18 years (2000 to 2018) and Cricket Coach for 25 years (1998 to 2023).
David was diagnosed with brain cancer in December 2022 and passed away on 30 November 2023. In true David fashion, he requested not to have a funeral (as he didn't want the fuss); however, instead of a funeral (and in lieu of flowers), he wanted to pass it forward to the next generation by upgrading the playing facilities at Riccarton High School, specifically:
1. Upgrade the grass cricket pitch block
2. Improve the grass playing field
3. Build a viewing area for players and spectators
A donation would go a long way to ensuring David's legacy lives on! Additionally, if you believe you are in a position to offer your time/skill/service/equipment to help with achieving any of the above 3 goals, please reach out to James Biddick (David's son) via email biddickjames@gmail.com
Thank you in advance!
James Biddick is the son of David Biddick (and former student and cricketer at Riccarton High School).
