David’s Bucket List Adventure while he still can

It’s been a hard 2 years. We first were trying to raise funds for life saving surgery and the support from me (Candace and family) while recovery from a lung transplant that he thought he would have. It’s been 5 months since being taken off the transplant list. With every day tasks becoming more difficult. I watch David daily try not to give up and not to lose his focus and can see all the doubt setting into this mind that he will be around to watch his kids grow up.

I’ve created this bucket list to help with a trip we have not entirely finished planning in may. While he still has breath and while he still can enjoy life. We are wanting to explore the South Island. We will drive from Wellington as it’s easier to carry all of his life saving equipment with us and commute down to all the sights someone should see in New Zealand.

We are asking we any donation to help us achieve this dream. It’s been 2 years since receiving the diagnosis and us trying to believe he will make it despite the odds. Even though the prognosis is poor we will still try and live each day like we have been.

In 2023 David was diagnosed with acute lung rejection of donor lungs. He survived septic shock despite the odds. He has done daily physio and eating 4000 calories a day to gain weight to try get back on the transplant list. With time and symptoms against us. We are wanting to check off the bucket list. Christchurch. Hamner springs. Queenstown here we come.
