Dead Man Riding. The Man, the Adventure and the legacy. The story of his last ride and his determination to leave something behind.
Redwoodtown, Blenheim
Mike, the man behind Dead Man Riding was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal Colorectal cancer which coincided with covid 19 Pandemic and the closure of the borders he didn't just lose his health but also his livelihood and was forced to close the motorcycle business he had put his heart and soul in to. Despite this devastating blow which brought the family to its knees Mike shared his experience every step of the way to drive awareness and encourage men to take charge of their own health particularly in the moto community through his platform Dead Man Riding or DMR.
Mike's driving force and his heart and soul is his 7 year old son Ace and wife Samantha. They are his everything. His desire is to leave them with lasting memories of all the adventures and an education fund for Ace to help ease the burden.
Mike is in the late stages now but is determined to spend as much time with his family as possible and to see his vision become a reality. From the bottom of his heart he is eternal grateful for the support and love and reminds everyone to look after yourself and find the fun in the mundane and take care of each other.
It is Mikes dream to support his son Ace’s education. Funds raised will be put in a special fund to ensure Mikes dream is realized.
The Last Ride 27 September 2022
When diagnosed with cancer Mike vowed to share his story and journey and mobilize as many people as possible to take care of themselves and take action if they had a feeling that something wasn’t quite right but also not to let challenges get in the way of living outside the lines. He embodied the spirit of life, love and adventure. So do him proud and do the same. Make a plan, take a trip, do what scares you and most of all take care of each other. Much Love and enjoy The Last Ride. Sam and Ace x Dead Man Riding
