Help us lessen financial strain on the family. As the siblings rallied to support each other, we too can make it easier for all of them.
Auckland
A family, returning from a funeral in Dunedin were on their way to Picton to catch a ferry to Auckland. They were involved in a tragic accident, lost 7 family members and a baby.
Two family members are in the intensive care in Wellington.
CESS CLARIMAN, daughter of Desiree Lagud Brown and her sister Joanna are now carers of the two survivors: Pedro & Lui. Lui being with SPINAL INJURY and Pedro still suffering from traumatic flashes and is still nursing an injury. The long Rehabilitation process is taking a financial toll on the siblings, as their mother & step dad were no longer available to support them.
Friend and a community leader, helping those in need.
Funds will be used for funeral expenses, ongoing medical needs for the two in intensive care and to support the family at this time. Although ACC shall also provide support for funeral & medical costs, but not enough to cover the whole amount.
The 2 survivors 31 January 2023
The 2 survivors of the deadliest car crash, Lui & Pedro is still having slow recovery.
Lui , the youngest survivor is now bedridden, and his sister CESS CLARIMAN is acting as sole caregiver.
Stressful for Cess, as she too, has a young family to look after too.
Pedro, another survivor is still having flashbacks of the images of the crash. The sight of his young child being hugged and protected by his partner, keep flashing in his memory. A counsellor is giving him support every week . A short holiday in the Philippines never made a difference. Summing up, the 2 survivors has a slow recovery process.
Thank you so much. It is a big help for Lui, the youngest survivor, in his road to recovery.
