Defeating Hepatitis B in Vanuatu - campaign update - November 2021
18 November 2021We are so grateful for the many generous contributions from people to this vital campaign to help efforts to tackle Hep B in Vanuatu. We've raised over $45k so far...and we're not stopping here!
During the last few months we have helped preparation for training healthcare workers in Vanuatu in recognising chronic liver disease. The next steps include supporting healthcare workers to roll out screening for pregnant women and to develop a strategy to reach and roll out screening in remote islands.
In short, your contributions are starting to make a difference. Over the coming months we will see training and screening scaling up.
But we want to do more. As more and more Ni-Van RSE workers arrive in New Zealand to support our horticulture industries at a critical time, we're reminded of the huge contribution they make. It's so important to support them and their communities in the dealing with the high prevalence of a terrible disease.
So we're extending our campaign. We are aiming to reach $100,000 in funding and we will keep this GiveALittle campaign open until June 2022.
In the meantime we're looking forward to sharing news and pictures as our contributions start to make a meaningful difference
