Many dogs disappear in NZ every year. We think lots aren't found because the owners don't get them out to enough people. That's our mission.
Otago
Dice and Weed are our much loved dogs. They disappeared from my care at home on the Otago Peninsula at 1pm Thurs 17 October 2019. Gone out of earshot in less than 2 minutes. The extensive searching began immediately and continued for 4 weeks all over the peninsula. We flyer dropped the whole peninsula and spoke to as as many people as possible. At 4 weeks we were on Seven Sharp about the dogs and we had had a sighting reported following it, of the dogs in the Ocean View freedom camp park in a white van in the days after they disappeared. It was then we embraced the fact they had most likely been picked up. We are not a main thoroughfare here, we are a destination. The traffic is either travelers or locals and at that time on a Thursday the majority would be tourists. We wont give up looking for them, they are out there and the way to find them is to make more people aware of them. The use for the funds is to purchase signs. We would like at least one sign of the dogs in every town in NZ to strengthen our poster campaign. We appreciate the support from so much xxx
To purchase and send signs around NZ. If we find the dogs and still have money in the kitty we will donate that to a well considered dog charity.
