Donations over $10 go into the draw to win a UN Youth jumper!

The Diplomacy Competition is a purpose-built platform that brings Model United Nations online. Through the competition, participants are exposed to a variety of international, legal and political issues. Students compete in teams of four and work together to hone their researching, writing, and analysis skills. In its second year this year, Diplomacy has engaged with over 600 students, comprising of 165 teams from over 50 schools. It is an initiative that has huge potential to grow and can scale to support thousands of students anywhere in the country as well as internationally.

Registration and participation in this initiative is free because we want any New Zealand student with an internet connection to be able to compete. As such, we only have access to limited funds to cover significant expenses, such as prizes, certificates, postage, and other administrative costs. Any donations would go a long way in securing the financial stability for the Diplomacy Competition 2016 and we are are especially looking for donations from people who have participated in the Diplomacy before. With your help we are aiming to make the competition bigger and better next year!

UN Youth's involvement (page creator)

UN Youth New Zealand is one of country’s largest and most established youth organisations and has been successfully empowering young New Zealanders for 16 years. We aim to engage youth in civics education by hosting a number of regional and national events, as well as sending delegations to international conferences around the world.

About us

UN Youth grew out of a desire to spread the values of the United Nations to the young people of Aotearoa New Zealand. We identify with values such as the promotion of peace, equality, improving access to education and reduction of poverty.

Model UN conferences have featured heavily in our educational content. However, we are about more than just the United Nations! Young people learn in a variety of different ways, and we have diversified our educational toolkit to make our programmes more accessible for everyone.

UN Youth is the youth arm of the United Nations Association of New Zealand (UNANZ), a member of the World Federation of UN Associations (WFUNA). WFUNA has a consultative status to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
