Dilworth Old Boys Association - Website Rebuild

$4,362 of $10,000 goal
Given by 41 generous donors in 4 weeks

We want to create a website that unites all the branches of the Old Boys and connects Old Boys from all over the globe.

Auckland

It always starts with a feeling.

During our years at Dilworth, there was no doubt that the feeling of belonging was one of them. A feeling of being part of a community, a brotherhood.

Fast-forward to the last day of life at Dilworth, we all promised to ‘give back’, to ‘keep connected’, to ‘help each other to the top’.

Now we are Old Boys.

Our many trusts and initiatives lack a central hub which causes their efforts to be stretched thin. It’s difficult for Old Boys to learn, connect, contribute to & benefit from our wider community.

We understand the struggle, and we are launching an initiative to solve that problem.

We want to create a platform that unites all the branches of the Dilworth Old Boys Association and connects Old Boys from all over the globe.

In our hands lies the power to lift the community even higher and create another chapter in James & Isabella Dilworths’ Legacy.

It’s time to give back, reconnect with your brotherhood and reignite our association.

Our new website will:

- Unite all Old Boys no matter how old or young you are, what country you live in and level of involvement you’ve had in the past.

- Allow us to share content and update the community with news of Old Boys.

- Give us a platform for anyone to host an event and invite Old Boys to it.

- Create a database of every Old Boy with the ability to filter by graduation year, occupation, location & name.

- Send automated, personalised newsletters keeping you up to date with what’s happening in the Dilworth community including any events or news that are relevant to you.

- Give you a connection to the Old Boy community that anyone can use regardless of age, experience or technical ability.

Benefiting from and contributing to the Dilworth community will be seamless.

We need to raise $30,000 to cover the planning, design, development & production of this website.

To do that, we are going to give you a little token of Dilworth for your contribution.

* Please note that pledge tiers do not compound.

Supporter - Donating any amount will get you an invitation to our website launch event.

Bronze - A contribution of at least $50 will get you a limited edition Centennial Tie.

Silver - If you are generous enough to donate $500 or more, you will receive one of the silver Dilworth rings designed and manufactured by Orbit.

Gold - Our highest and most valuable gold tier is limited to three contributors and will give you one year free sponsorship on our website once it goes live.

On top of this, every dollar pledged will be matched by the Old Boys Association up to $10,000 and if we hit $10,000 (or reach 100 pledges), the Centennial Foundation Trust will donate $5000.

No donation is too small and even a $10 pledge will make a real difference.

First Week Update  29 November 2015

Hi Guys.

Thanks to everyone that has already contributed to our website project. We've had quite a bit of feedback come through (which is great!) and we wanted to answer a few questions as we are sure other people will be thinking similar things.

Yes, the amount we need to raise is $30,000 and it's a lot more than your standard website. That's because we aren't building a standard website.

We have plans to truly transform how we operate as an association and the website we are going to build is a fully fledged, custom web app that will help all Old Boys and strengthen our association.

Some of the features include:

- Ability for anyone to share news of the school & Old Boys

- Community driven events where anyone can create & advertise reunions and take RSVPs

- A fully fledged Old Boys directory where you can reconnect with classmates and find Old Boys with different occupations and in different locations all over the world

- Automatic newsletters to keep you up to date with the Dilworth related news you want to hear about

- Paying subscription fees or making donations to our association

- An archive & history of our association made up of all the news, events & members that is put on our website

This is no "Online brochure" we assure you!
