Helping a much loved whānau in our school community after they lost everything in a house fire.
Brooklyn, Wellington
A much loved family at our school lost everything earlier this week in a house fire. We first met Hasan and Flora (Maria) when they ran Damascus at the VBC down the road from school and they now have a restaurant in the city. Unfortunately an electrical fire burned through their house and they lost all their possessions. Hasan is from Syria and Flora is from Argentina and they don't have family in New Zealand to support them. We would love to help them get back on their feet and be able to replace what they have lost.
A small school with a big heart in Brooklyn, Wellington.
All the household items needed to get their lives back together.
Thank you! 2 May 2024
We would love to thank each one of you for helping us recover from our house fire. We understand times are tough, and it means the world to us to receive so much support and love from the community, friends and family.
We are really overwhelmed with the love and care that we’ve received these last couple of weeks, and we feel so proud of being part of such a supportive and caring community.
Arohanui from our family to yours!
Hasan, Flora, Tami and Rafi
