    Hi Everyone,

    I'm thinking this will be my final update and note as editor and creator of Down in Edin as I have less than three weeks before this portal of support and generosity closes.

    Firstly, thank you to all who have helped us keep the archives open until the end of May next year, it's absolutely wonderful to be able to do that! And, I want to say thank you to you all, everyone, for the long haul and wish you each the best for the future. Great health, love, and abundance!

    I've created a finale, a final epic opus. A collection to celebrate our readers, contributors, and those whose stories we were able to share over the past eight and a half years. The collection is like a beautiful index or a giant triple-decker TARDIS. It's a fantastic gathering of creative souls! When I pick up the "daily news" I need an antidote, and when I read these stories shared in DIEM, my faith in humanity is restored.

    You've all assisted in many different ways to enable this work to be - and if I can leave you with anything, it is this - all of us have contributed to a world more beautiful, one story at a time.

    A multi-level thank you here. The first big thanks is for all donations received over the entire time we've had this page open. The notes you've left and the generosity of your donations have been uplifting and heartwarming. The funds have been super helpful for many of the fundamental things that go into making this journal.

    The second big thanks are for this most recent fundraiser - to keep our archives open for another year!

    Thanks to you all we can now do that! :-) Funds raised here will cover the annual fees for the publishing platform we use and keep the independent, ad-free, full screen reader and direct links in tact (until the end of May 2023) and also cover our website expenses over the next two years for its basic costs.

    Wrapping you all in a warm blanket of appreciation, gratitude - and much love for all you have given!

  • Still going ...

    Kia ora everyone,

    We're still working... We are currently creating the last issue, #25, which will be published early in April. It's a beauty! The stories are in, but we're still working on the images and layout. Then, after that, an encore - a collection pulled from our previous issues celebrating the generation of our creative community that Down in Edin has been able to cover.

    Thank you again for your generosity, warmth, appreciation, and kindness. You've all been utterly fantastic!

    Thank you for all your help. In the latest issue - Literature, Poetry, Art, Theatre, Photography, Dance, Peace, Chocolate, and Gifts in the Garden.

    Within its digital pages: Ten Notable Writers in New Zealand based in Dunedin chat with Penelope Todd, Carolyn McCurdie and Kevin Clements converse about Archibald Baxter's "We Will Not Cease" set in the new Peace Garden in Dunedin, stories around theatre and dance.     It's March already, well into 2021. We're looking forward to producing some wonderful, vibrant journals this year and help contribute to a world more beautiful one story at a time!

    As we move through 2020, as a not for profit unincorporated society, Down in Edin Magazine will continue on with sharing stories of creative lives, and beautiful places in the South Island of New Zealand.
