Dunedin Bedding Bank

Our mission at the Dunedin Bedding bank is to provide access to bedding, shelter and a little extra for the homeless and vulnerable people in our community. The Dunedin Bedding bank began in July 2022 to respond to a need in the community for donated bedding. Since that time, the number of homeless people in our community has increased considerably, along with the need for other resources such as tents, sleeping bags, warm clothes and jackets, toiletries, snack food etc. We often find the most vulnerable people trust only us to provide help to them in desperate circumstances when they have nowhere else to turn.

Our mission to serve the homeless and most vulnerable people of our community is becoming more urgent as pressures on society are resulting in increased homelessness for many. Warm, dry winter clothing, and shelter is of utmost importance in keeping people safe and out of the health system.

We have a small but passionate team of people who volunteer their time to achieve our mission. We have just managed to get a bank account set up which means we can begin to look at funding. But in the mean time we have a storage unit we cannot fund and people who need ongoing support and help and no funds. We would greatly appreciate any donations towards our cause.
