My hometown which is called Mashiki, kumamoto Japan was attacked by big earthquakes at 14th and 16th of April. Magnitude was M6.2 and M7.3.

Wellington

Please give a little love from you to my people in Kumamoto Japan.

As you already know, We Japanese spent very tough time with Tohoku earthquake and tsunami disaster in 2011 like Christchurch. But it has happened again at my hometown Mashiki which locates the center of Kyushu island which was the epicenter. The first attack was magnitude 6.5 at 21:26 on April 14, 2016. The second one was magnitude 7.3 at 1:25 on April 16, just after 28 hours from the first attack. Fortunately no tsunami but a lot of damage and harm in Kumamoto prefecture.

Mashiki town is one of suburb of Kumamoto city. Main industry is Agriculture. It was a peaceful and relaxing countryside but all destroyed by earthquake.

Not only Mashiki town, the place which is called Aso, very popular as sightseeing area( hot springs, spring water spots, old houses, freshly green forests) also is devastated. A lot Landslide and ground cracks are isolated the tiny beautiful villages. The Aso bridge is wiped by gigantic landslide.

In Kumamoto city, damages are everywhere. Famous 400 year old Kumamoto castle is injured. Suizenji park which is the traditional Japanese style garden lost spring water because of the earthquake. Old shrines and Houses and apartment collapsed or cracked so people force to evacuate sum up 80,000 at the present on April 22.

Worst thing is that the faulting is still very active and the epicenter keeps moving under Kyushu island. The activity counted over 800 times at the present on April 22.

Under such a situation, my old sister starts to set up a soup kitchen because she owns a little restaurant in Mashiki town.

I got married with lovely kiwi husband Milton in 2012. He came to meet my parents in Mashiki. I brought my dog, my life, named Oku( female Miniature Shunauzer), who also came from Kumamoto with me, We peacefully settle down in Wellington. I am far away from my people and town but I would like to work for them.

I plan to send the donation to Mashiki and Aso town council which are most devastated area. Also I am animal person so I would like to donate to animal rescue organisation and shelter, vet which is rescuing injured animal. Same as human, a lot of pet lost home and missing and injured.
