Running the half marathon to raise funds for Ease The Squeeze - the trust set up to help people affected by metabolic disease.

Nationwide

Running a half marathon was something I was meant to do last year, but I had to have an operation. Thought a good motivator would be a run so I got some support for our metabolic charity - Ease The Squeeze. Supporting people and families who have an additional financial burden because of a metabolic disease. These diseases are little known and largely ignored. Definitely unsupported.

I work as the Nurse Specialist for the National Metabolic Service. I have met so many wonderful people who really struggle because of their disease. There is little funding for these people and it is heart breaking to see them slide into poverty ... something had to be done.

About us

Ease the Squeeze is a trust set up by the metabolic community to support individuals and families meet the everyday needs which, due to their diseases, they struggle to cover.

Often unable to work, due to the illness or the need to care for an unwell child, what was once manageable - is no longer manageable. Bills pile up, the healthy food options are no longer affordable and the quality of life deteriorates.
