Easton’s Leukemia has returned. Support the Trueman whānau on this tough journey.
Taupo, Waikato
At just 3 years old, Easton was diagnosed with leukemia. He endured 2 years of grueling treatment, endless hospital visits, and painful procedures, showing strength far beyond his years before entering remission. For 3½ years, the Trueman whānau were able to enjoy life with their youngest son cancer free.
Heartbreakingly, Easton has relapsed at only 8 years old and is back in Starship Hospital, facing another fight for his life. He now requires a bone marrow transplant. In an incredible act of aroha, his older brother Eden is a match and has volunteered to donate, meaning both brothers will be in hospital at the same time. Easton receives his transplant, Eden undergoing surgery to give him the best chance of survival.
Natalie is at Ronald Mcdonald with Easton as he works to regain strength, while Mike remains in Taupō with Eden, juggling work and the burden of being separated from his wife and youngest son. The whānau are split three hours apart, trying to hold everything together while preparing for the fight of their lives.
They are grateful for the care at Ronald McDonald House, but everyday living costs don’t stop. This adds to the financial and emotional strain. It is not easy for this amazing whānau to ask for help. Nat and Mike are always the first to awhi and support others, but now they need our help. Every koha, no matter the size, is a lifeline, easing the burden so they can focus on Easton’s healing, Eden’s recovery, and bringing both their boys home again.
Family Friend
Every koha helps cover travel, meals, and bills, easing financial pressure while Natalie and Mike stay by both their boys Easton and Eden during the transplant and Easton’s continued Leukaemia recovery.
