Respectful & Heart-led Early Childhood Education
Mount Maunganui, Tauranga
Hi, I’m Nerea, a Spanish Early Childhood teacher based in New Zealand and the founder of Manawa Education.
Following recent events in my homeland, I feel called to support to several ECE centers in Valencia that have been impacted by the Dana storm and subsequent flooding.
The recent devastation caused by the storm has left a deep mark on numerous towns, impacting ECE centres such as Xipixo, in Catarroja or E.I. Angelets, in Aldaia. These spaces, so vital to many families, have been seriously damaged, with affected facilities and essential resources destroyed.
To bring you closer to their reality, we are sharing some images of the state in which the centers were found upon arrival. We know these are challenging times for the region, but we believe that, united, we can help rebuild these communities (at least on a physical and human level).
Every donation, no matter how small, becomes a message of unity and support that transcends borders. With our solidarity, we can make it possible for these centers to once again become welcoming and educational spaces for children and families.
Funds will be going to the ECE centre, Escoleta Xipixop and then they will distribute them to the other two nearby centers.
We are deeply grateful for each contribution!
To help these centers recover, we’ve created a donation fund, with all of the contributions going directly to provide essential materials for cleaning, structural repairs, and, eventually, the replacement of damaged furniture.
Progress of the Solidarity Campaign for Early Childhood Centers Affected by the Dana Storm 3 December 2024
Hi,
On behalf of Manawa Education and myself, Nerea Aller, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your generosity and commitment to the solidarity campaign for several early childhood centers affected by the Dana storm in Valencia.
Thanks to your help, we have been able to provide support to the communities of Angelets (Aldaia), Xipixop (Catarroja), and Espai Petjades (Massanassa). Attached to this note, you will find some photographs showing the ongoing renovations and the deliveries we have made, distributed equally among these three centers.
These acts of solidarity are not only contributing to rebuilding physical spaces but also strengthening the emotional fabric of the communities that gather around these spaces for children and families.

With gratitude,
