Taking on the Queenstown Marathon on the 14th of November 2026 to raise funds for the Otago Community Hospice in the honor of my mum.
Otago, Dunedin City
I lost my mother, Janeen Still at the age of 18. Our shared love for the outdoors forged a deep bond. I always think about the saying 'soulmate' isn't always a romantic partner. I believe mine was my mum. Initially, my running goal was to complete 2.4k in under 10 minutes to complete a fitness test. A few weeks latter a desire for a greater achievement emerged. I began pondering on my mother's mantra to "follow the sun" as her gentle encouragement to chase dreams… well mum I have now set my sights on completing a marathon. This endeavour undertaken despite the persistent challenges of long COVID, is my testament and a promise to myself that with unwavering determination, anything is possible. This marathon is for you, Mum. I am also committed to raising funds for the Otago Community Hospice, whose exceptional care for my mother and family makes me honoured to support them to help give the same support we received to countless others.
These funds will be sent directly to the Otago Community Hospice to support individuals facing terminal illness and their families.
