Help an Aspiring Journalist Get the Surgery She Needs

I’ve been with Ella for almost five years now. We’ve been together through thick and thin and have shared many good times together. Unfortunately, there have also been some bad times, and many of them have been because of the difficulties Ella has faced being transgender.

I remember holding her at night as she cried because of the dysphoria becoming too much for her to bear, I remember her being unable to speak because she couldn’t stand the sound of her own voice. I remember her having anxiety attacks over going out in public in feminine clothes. I remember her breaking down because she was stuck in the wrong body.

I have had to watch the person I love most in all the world suffer, and that is why this surgery matters so much. This surgery will enable Ella to have the correct body, something the rest of us take for granted. No more sleepless nights, no more anxiety attacks, no more suffering.

I love Ella, and I want her to be happy, and that's why this matters to me.
