Very sadly Virgil lost his battle to cancer yesterday. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated. I know some of you didn't even know the family, but were touched by their plight.
This is a note from Charlotte:
"Virgil died very peacefully at home (yesterday) morning after a long battle to feel well again. Our family is bereft, but so grateful to the community for the your support during these past 7 1/2 weeks."

Dear friends
Thank you so, so much from our little family for your kind, supportive words and donations. They both mean so much. We had no idea we had so many friends.
Your support has meant Virg has been able to be at cared for at home by us, without our having to worry about bills and finances. We only hope to be able to repay your kindness in some way in the future.
Virgil has been stable the past couple of weeks: bed-bound and weak, but eating a little. He's still enjoying family life, albeit in a different way from when he was well. We don't know how long he has but hope that it's weeks rather than days.
