Update on Faith's surgery
9 October 2015Thank you everyone for all the kind words and very generous donations .
We had an appointment with the Invercargill hospital yesterday 8th Oct 15 . After consulting with a cardiologist the team down here have been given the go ahead to do Faith surgery. We are so thankful for this especially considering Louise ( Faiths Mum ) is now 33 weeks pregnant . This means we are close to friends and family and medical staff we are familiar with .
There's no mucking around apparently , as we have been told the operation will go ahead next Fri the 16th of October . We need to be there at 7am and she is the only one on the list for the day due to the operation being lengthy . We are hopeful she will be out soon after lunch time .
It is still unsure if she will be in a full cast or some crazy sort of brace set up . Either way its going to be a tricky time getting her around . But so long as she is comfortable we will make it work . Hopefully we will see the OT team over the weekend or the Monday following the Operation and get some handy equipment .
It will be a nerve wracking time . But everyone involved seems very confident . Which makes the process a lot easier .
It is uncertain how long Faith will need to stay in hospital for , it depends on her pain level and healing . They will place nerve blockers in her hips for a short time to make sure she is comfortable even though she is not very good at letting us know when she is in pain .
I will update when I can once she has had the surgery and let everyone know how she got on .
Thank you to everyone for their help and well wishes . It means a lot .
