Megs Bucket list now has become urgent as Megs time is now palliative.

  • Rest In peace and Fly High dearest Meg

      14 October 2019

    Megs "Fun"eral was held today.

It was a beautiful celebration of a life lived to the fullest.

Meg thankyou for the life lessons, and the timely visitation from a pair of ducks during the ceremony. The singing was very moving, and the tributes from your family may have incurred a few drops from my tear ducts.

Please if any of you wish to contribute to Megs fund, please do so before it closes and assist her family to complete visits to the last three Disneyland's on Megs bucket list in her honour.

If you are wanting to sign her online Obituary book please see the link to it below.

  • Rest In Peace and fly with the Angels

      7 October 2019

It is with immense sadness that I write this update.

Beautiful precious Meg earned her butterfly wings at 9am this morning. Please keep Richard, Marilyn, Amy and Margaret upmost in your thoughts as they come to terms with their sadness.

"May the road rise to meet you.

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sunshine warm upon your face.

May the rains fall upon your fields.

    And until we meet again,

May God hold you in the hollow of His hand. "

Rest in Peace beautiful Meg, free of pain. x

  • Tough week for Meg, update from her family

Firstly, thank you all for the wonderful donations. It has been suggested we start working on our out of town bucket list items while she is well enough so next week we are off to Oamaru to see the penguins and then Meg can adopt one. This brought a real smile when she realised she could. We are going to do it on her off days from palliative chemotherapy. We are going to see the penguins, visit the “Steam Punk Museum” and anything else that takes her fancy.

This week’s chemotherapy has taken its toll. In her terms she hates it but it is buying us time. She was taken into hospital by ambulance with a temperature of 39.4 on Tuesday and spent most of the nights this week there. Today we are home which she loves and only back for a short time tomorrow Then we have five short days off before we start again

She has a lumber puncture, got her pic line, and had a bone marrow aspirate plus chemo. (Tough week by anyone's standards) - editor

    Enjoy visiting Oamaru Meg.

The attached picture is when Meg realised she could adopt a penguin. That Is one very luck penguin indeed..

  • Update from Meg and her family

      3 September 2019

"Today the decision was made to not aim for cure. The treatment was going to be brutal and the odds wouldn't increase. They said she may enter hospital never to leave. Meg has decided to have palliative care. Mild chemo to holt the beast for a while and to enjoy life to the full. To say the least we are all gutted but know in our hearts this is the right move as the leukemia is developing quite quickly. We are going to enjoy the months we have and have a revised bucket list all New Zealand based as we can no longer leave the country."

I urge you all to please help meg achieve this bucket list, and send her many prayers that she remain well enough to enjoy these things x

  • Meg has developed Drug induced Leukaemia

      3 September 2019

Sadly things have changed rather drastically for Meg and her family.

On Monday Meg and her family have opted for the Palliative pathway. Her leukaemia is difficult to treat and is very aggressive. Meg will be unable to fulfil her bucket list outside New Zealand, and now will be focussing on quality time, not quantity of time as the required treatment may actually see her be admitted to hospital and not leave.

Please help fund some bucket list items for Meg that can give some comfort.

Meg is currently in hospital, battling this horrid illness. Please send her and her beautiful family much love and prayers for some much needed rest.
